Najaf adorns itself with flowers to celebrate the birth of Imam Mahdi (ATFS)

The holy shrine of Amir Al-Mu’minin in Najaf is beautifully decorated with flowers as the city prepares to mark the auspicious birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (ATFS). Devotees from across Iraq and beyond are expected to gather in large numbers to celebrate this blessed occasion, filling the streets of Najaf, Karbala, Samarra, and Kazmain with an atmosphere of joy, prayer, and devotion. The celebrations are not limited to Iraq alone, as Iran is also preparing for grand commemorations, especially at the revered Jamkaran Mosque, which holds a deep connection to Imam Mahdi (ATFS). The mosque, known for its spiritual significance, will be illuminated with lights and filled with the voices of believers offering prayers and supplications for the awaited savior. India, too, will join in marking this sacred night with Mehfils and gatherings, where devotees will recite poetry, offer prayers, and reflect upon the significance of Imam Mahdi’s (ATFS) divine mission. Across various cities, mosques and religious centers will host special programs dedicated to the teachings and virtues of the twelfth Imam. Imam Mahdi (ATFS): The Awaited Savior According to Shia belief, Imam Mahdi (ATFS) is the twelfth and final Imam, born in the year 868 CE (255 AH) in Samarra, Iraq. He is the son of Imam Hasan al-Askari (AS) and Narjis Khatun. It is believed that Imam Mahdi (ATFS) went into occultation by divine will to reappear at the appointed time and establish justice and peace on earth. His mission is to rid the world of tyranny and oppression, uniting humanity under the banner of righteousness and divine guidance. Throughout history, Shia Muslims have held steadfast in their belief that Imam Mahdi (ATFS) continues to guide and assist his followers, even while in occultation. His birthday is celebrated with immense reverence, symbolizing hope, renewal, and unwavering faith in the ultimate victory of truth over falsehood. As Najaf and other holy cities prepare for this grand celebration, the hearts of millions beat in unison, praying for the reappearance of the Imam who will usher in an era of justice, mercy, and divine guidance. The night of his birth is not just a commemoration; it is a reaffirmation of faith, a call for self-improvement, and a renewal of commitment to the principles he stands for.
